Abstract:
We are at the beginning of a new biotechnology revolution, driven by an unprecedented advent of new biotechnologies to much better target aging and disease than ever before. What are examples of new biotechnologies and companies, in the fields of gene editing, gene therapy, cell therapies, AI, organ printing, organoids and others? In this talk, we discuss new developments and approaches that will extend human lifespan and healthspan.
About the speaker:
Kris Verburgh is a medical doctor specialized in aging and longevity and the latest developments in medicine and biotechnology. He is a researcher at the Free University of Brussels and faculty member at Singularity University Benelux where he teaches about the future of medicine and longevity. He is a venture partner at Longevity Vision Fund, a $100 million fund that invests in new technologies to address aging. He wrote his first science book when he was 16 years old and by age 28 he had written four science books. Since a young age he has given talks for various organizations and institutions, including universities, Fortune 100 companies, government, and financial organizations.
