Our Education for Complexity research theme focuses on interedisciplinary groundworks for the practices of education and pedagogy. In a series of publications and seminars, we aim to consolidate the philosophical underpinnings for fostering education and cognitive development in good attunement to complexity: the complexity of the world—and the complexity of the mind.
The concepts and approaches developed in this open-ended project are being implemented in the curriculum design of CLEA's School of Thinking as well as the educational programmes for teenagers (ages 10-18) organised by Buckminster College.
The major themes of research include:
- Deep interdisciplinarity in educational design and practice;
- Pedagogy of individuation and thriving in the complex, uncertain, open-ended universe;
- Accelerated, asynchronous, and divergent trajectories of cognitive development;
- Collective intelligence and creative collaboration in teaching, learning, and educational leadership.
